Members of the community are invited to take part in the Academy's annual Community Quiz on Thursday 26th January 2012 from 5pm to 7pm.

Teams of up to six people can enter and compete for the prestigious Community Quiz trophy against Academy staff members.

Parents of Year 9 students are invited to attend our Options Information Evening on Thursday 2nd February 2012 from 6pm to 7pm in the Academy building.

The evening will include a free Options Information Booklet, which contains key information about the different courses available to your child, a short presentation at 6pm (repeated at 6.30pm) to help explain the options process and the opportunity to talk to our staff about the different subjects and courses available.  There will also be a Connexions Advisor present to provide careers advice.

The deadline for return of the Options Form is Wednesday 8th February; it is important that we receive all forms back by this date so that we can ensure every student’s choices are considered in our course plans for next year.

We hope that you can join us to enable you to gather information that will help guide your child to make the right choices at this very important step in their education.

Bedford Academy is now officially a member of the new Royal Society Associate Schools and Colleges scheme! We very much look forward to working with the society that will communicate with us weekly on current scientific and mathematical developments and help us to promote excellence in Science. The Academy will now contribute to the work of the Royal Society by responding to consultations, reviewing teaching resources and participating in scientific events.

Bedford Academy Governing Body proposed the admissions policy found here for applications for children joining the Academy from September 2013. A period of eight weeks has been set aside for Consultation between Monday 28th November 2011 and Monday 6th February 2012.

You have the opportunity to make comments in writing on this proposal. Bedford Academy Governing Body will consider any comments it receives relating to the proposed policy before determining the final policy, prior to April 2012. The final policy will be published on the Academy website and will be sent to interested parties.
