Today, 17th May, is Food Revolution Day and we have launched our own Bedford Academy Cook Book. These have been published in two sizes, A4 and A5. We are now taking orders for these.

In Humanities, we study what happens in the world around us, so it's important to keep up to date with the news. We are now publishing our own weekly online paper with stories that are relevant to the things you study in class. Check out the latest edition of Humanities Times here. It's hot off the press every Tuesday.

We currently have a vacancy on our Academy's governing body for a parent governor. This is open to anyone who has a child at the Academy in September 2013. If you would like more information about how to apply for this, please click here. 

Bedford Academy's Wayne Instrell has been named the Sky Sports Living for Sport Student of the Year 2012. He received the accolade after being shortlisted as the East of England Regional Winner.

Joining 11 other Student Regional Winners from across the UK at the prestigious UK awards ceremony held at Sky Studios in London, Wayne received his trophy from Sky Sports Living for Sport’s ambassadors, Olympic heptathlete Jessica Ennis CBE and sprint legend Darren Campbell MBE.

Stonewall, the national charity dedicated to campaigning to prevent and tackle homophobic bullying and language in schools joined us recently to present to every member of our school community. Helen Eastlake, Assistant Principal, said, “We are delighted that all our students had the opportunity to attend the presentations and that they will continue to benefit from the Academy being a member of Stonewall’s Schools Champions programme.” Click here to hear more about Stonewall’s recent visit.
