Our unique curriculum offers a well balanced Core Curriculum comprising of three essential elements:
- Wider Learning: Here you are guided to choose from a selection of options that ensure breadth to your studies, keeping options open for the future. Options include: Work related learning or work experience placements, Work Skills BTEC level 3, Extended Project, AS/A2 in General Studies
- Well – Being: This part of the sixth form experience is compulsory and comprises of physical exercise and sport, daily participation in the vertical tutoring programme, PHSE activities and independent study.
- Leaders of Tomorrow: We expect sixth form students to be leaders within the school community and beyond, therefore, students choose from a range of opportunities to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills such as: sports leaders, young enterprise, and student mentoring, school council, lead learners, lead creators, millennium volunteers, prefects or Duke of Edinburgh.
In addition, our Option Curriculum allows you to construct subject combinations based on AS/A2, BTEC level 3 and OCR National level 3 qualifications to suit your needs. You should choose courses equivalent to 3 A’ Levels*. In some cases, students will have the opportunity to study 4 AS subjects.

IT IS WORTH NOTING THAT THE CURRICULUM OFFER IS UNDER REVIEW FOR 2011 INTAKE OUR SUBJECT OFFER IS LIKELY TO EXPAND IN CHOICE.
*Students without grade C or higher in GCSE English and/or maths will be expected to re-sit, in order to gain these qualifications before leaving the Academy.
