The Science & Technology Learning Village is led by Miss Jackie Smith (Assistant Principal) who is responsible for the over support and academic progress of up to 240 students in the learning village, ranging from year 8 to 13. Each Learning Village has two strands: pastoral and learning.

The pastoral strand is led by Mrs Maher the Learning Village Leader. Mrs Maher oversees the pastoral support for all of the students in the vertical tutor groups and is ably supported by the team of tutors.

The learning strand is led by Mr Mark Leuty the Director of Learning who oversees learning and academic progress of all students undertaking Science and Technology.

Bedford Academy is now officially a member of the new Royal Society Associate Schools and Colleges scheme! We very much look forward to working with the society that will communicate with us weekly on current scientific and mathematical developments and help us to promote excellence in Science. The Academy will now contribute to the work of the Royal Society by responding to consultations, reviewing teaching resources and participating in scientific events.
