ORGANISATION STRUCTURE

The Academy organisation structure consists of five Learning Villages:

· Communications (English & World Languages)

· Maths & Business (includes ICT)

· Humanities

· Science & Technology (Our Specialisms)

· Sports & Arts

Each student is assigned to a Learning Village as they enter the Academy; this forms their pastoral base for their time with us. Students are organised in vertical tutor groups with students from all years; this enables peer mentoring, easy integration into the Academy and reduces bullying.

Students move between the Learning Villages for their lessons to ensure that they get the specialist teaching that they need.

For most students, pastoral and mentoring support is provided by the staff in their Learning Village; however, there will be times when students require additional support. This support will be provided by Access, which offers SEN support, language development, behaviour support, counselling and alternative curriculum provision.
