Transition FAQ’s – Parents Text

Calendar of Events

There will be key events which will occur throughout the year leading up to your child arriving at the Academy. To keep up to date with the latest dates and events click here

Structure of the Day

We ensure that our students make the most of their one chance to achieve their full potential and gain the excellent results that they are capable of. Not only do we offer an exciting range of learning experiences, we also make sure that our students are academically and emotionally prepared for their future by being challenged to think for themselves, take part in academy decision-making and be self-motivated to do the very best that they can.

Our students are encouraged to recognise their own achievements and explore how they can build on these to make exceptional progress. We celebrate student successes and continue to develop our students’ skills in teamwork, independence and leadership – the skills that will ensure that they grow in confidence and are prepared for successful future careers. We see each student as an individual and seek to give them an education that best suits both their abilities and their interests.

Bedford Academy students benefit from increased teaching time through longer Academy weeks and one hour and fifty-five minute lesson slots; we believe that lengthened lessons positively enhances the available learning time for our students. Click here for more information.

Enrichment

A key part of your child’s learning process; Enrichment develops your child’s learning through interesting additional subjects and extracurricular activity. Students are encouraged to take part in as wide a variety of enrichment activities as possible beyond the compulsory once a week commitment.
