Bedford Academy celebrates improving Progress 8 score in 2019

Students at Bedford Academy have secured some fantastic results this year increasing our progress 8 score from 0.33 (2018) to 0.38 (2019), with 45% of our students achieving 9-4 in English and Maths and 27.1% achieving 9-5 in English and Maths. Our attainment 8 score was 44.35.

We were also delighted by the progress made by our students across a broad range of subjects including Sport Science, Religious Studies, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Child Development, Health and Social Care and many more.

We are delighted for many of our students including: Blessy Inbaraj: 7 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s and a Distinction*; Serendipity Bath: 3 grade 9’s, 5 grade 8’s, Distinction* and a Distinction; Kamran Chalal: 3 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s, 2 grade 7’s and a Distinction

97.5% (estimate) of our students are staying in education or employment after Key Stage 4, with many of them choosing to stay on at Bedford Academy Sixth Form to continue to pursue their career aspirations. Students are studying a range of subjects across the different disciplines including Business, Social Sciences, Maths, English, Creative Media.
