We believe that Bedford Academy should be at the heart of our local community and understand how important it is to develop links with local clubs, groups and organisation that can then take advantage of our excellent facilities.

Our aim as an Academy is to ensure that all members of the local community have opportunities to use our facilities, be welcomed to events that are relevant, and that the school is seen as an important part of everyday life within the surrounding area.

The Academy holds a number of events that the local community are welcomed to each year. We have regular concerts and showcases that highlight the musical and artistic talent of our students and local residents can come and share in the students' successes. We also have events such as a Community Quiz and our Year 7 Grandparents Christmas Dinner which have been particularly popular events and gave members of our local community the opportunity to socialise and relax with staff and students. These are events that we are keen to develop and retain moving forward.

We also believe that our students should value their community and through the Student Voice team we are putting together events to support our local community such as charity fundraising and local litter picks. 

Community events are always posted on our website and information released to students through our assemblies and tutor group programme.
