At the start of Year 10, students begin a two-year Key Stage 4 where the students have the opportunity to study a number of subjects.
During the course of the two years, all students will complete a core offer of GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, GCSE Maths, GCSE Combined or Triple Science, and either GCSE Geography or GCSE History. In addition to these GCSE subjects all students will also have Core PE and PCD lessons.
Alongside the core subjects all students will study three additional qualifications. The qualifications they study will depend on the pathway they follow. There are three different pathways available and each of these is tailored to the needs of the students. This will ensure that the students are studying the subjects most appropriate to them so that they can progress successfully onto their desired next step at the end of Year 11.
Our Pathways process for Year 9 students was rolled out in their assembly and PCD lesson on 6th February 2024.
