Bedford Academy values and appreciates the role of parents and carers in our Community school. Through Parent Voice we want to empower parents and carers in supporting and impacting the progress, drive and aspiration of the school and our students.
Through Parent Voice we aim to:
1. Provide a forum for parents and carers come together and share ideas to support our young people and the school community
2. Develop the home school partnership within our community to promote and celebrate school improvement
3. To enable parents and carers to feel informed and empowered to take accountability for their child’s education
Our first annual Parent Forum and the Introduction to Friends of Bedford Academy is on Wednesday 21st May 4 - 5pm.
The Parent Forum there will be an opportunity to speak to staff and other parents about a range of important aspects of school and community life, including:
Sustainability and Climate
Curricular, Extra-Curricular and Super-Curricular provision
SEND provision
Learning Behaviours
Homework
Community Wellbeing
Please come along if you are interested in supporting us by contributing to discussions on any of these areas, or if you have any other aspects of school and community life that you wish to discuss.
We will also be introducing Friends of Bedford Academy, a parent-staff group to facilitate parent and community led events and fundraising. We are excited to hear your ideas and suggestions for this group and the contributions it could make to our school community.
If you are unable to attend the Parent Forum but still have feedback, please feel free to email me Katie Young on [email protected] or contact the school to arrange a phone call.
